This church is of a red brick construction and was consecrated as a chapel of ease in the parish of Kingswinford in 1765 - it was erected by subscription. Much of the tower was restored in 1900, with many changes having already been made to the original building. Due to these extensions, the church is almost square which causes it to lack character somewhat. This does not detract from the fact that it is a very substantial building in a very prominent position.
